An innovation which enchants residents has been the creation of a special Pets Area: housing rabbits, birds, a cat, and, on occasion, a resident’s dog. The Home’s Manager, Vicky Morl, explains: ‘The pets bring a sense of serenity to our residents. For someone who doesn’t communicate well, you see their face light up when a fluffy rabbit is placed on their lap. It’s a reward in itself.’
