East Hill Companions Café
It is now six months since the newest Companions Café in London was established at Saint Mary Magdalene’s Church, East Hill, Wandsworth. Guests are now able to come back inside (with social distancing measure in place) after a few weeks of having to distribute food outside due to lockdown restrictions. Guests are offered tea or coffee, followed by soup, a main course with a meat or vegetarian option and a pudding. They are also given any extras to takeaway. Volunteers help to distribute the different courses and then chat to our guests. On average, there are between 16 to 20 guests, either in the café or receiving deliveries. This week all of the guests were given a bottle of home made apple juice to take home.
