London Companions Christmas
Christmas festivities for the homeless started on 14th December at the Companions’ Café – Spanish Place. Over 80 guests enjoyed a delicious turkey meal with all the trimmings, listened to a fabulous choir arranged by Eddie Pease (Companion and Ex-Chairman of OMV) and friends. The guests also received one of the Christmas parcels with clothing and toiletries and a bag of delicious home made biscuits. A very jolly evening.
The week leading up to Christmas there were more festive events – another Christmas meal on Monday at Companions’ Café – Spanish Place, a delicious supper at the Companions’ Café – East Hill. It was wonderful that so many people from the parish, and family members joined this evening for the guests. There were wonderful Christmas breakfasts at Breakfast Club – Bayswater and Breakfast Club – Golden Square. Ending with the last Companions’ café before Christmas on Thursday 21st December at Spanish Place with a lucky dip of gifts.
Thank you to all the parish priests who support the Companions’ projects in London: Monsignor Philip Wilmore at St James’s Spanish Place, Canon Martin Edwards at St Mary Magdalen, Wandsworth, Monsignor Keith Baltrop at Church of St Mary and the Angels – Bayswater, Monsignor Keith Newton and Fr Mark Elliott at Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory.
