Celebrating Companions’ Day
Happily, Companions’ Day is once more almost upon us. Chosen to coincide with the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, 11th February, it is our annual opportunity collectively to pray for the CoM, to spread the word about our work and to recruit new Companions to join us.To these ends, and particularly with Companions’ Day falling on a Sunday this year, please may I ask you to have a Mass said or a bidding prayer offered for the CoM in your own Parish church on the day or simply add us to your prayers. To assist, included below is the possible text of a (bidding) prayer you might be able to use.
We should also all be trying to recruit one Companion over that weekend, which if we each succeed would have a truly huge impact on our numbers and our finances for the year ahead. To assist in this, you will want to direct people to our website (https://www.orderof malta.org.uk/companions/getinvolved/).
May I also take this opportunity, with Easter so early this year, to announce our series of Lenten Reflections, with Mgr Armitage. Every Companion and all those volunteers who work with us are invited to these three short online meetings on topics linked to our works. These will take place on alternate Wednesdays in Lent at 6.30pm on 14/2 (Ash Wednesday) 6/3 and 20/3 – thanks to Mgr John who is on Sabbatical in Rome. Login details will be sent out 2 days before each.
Thank you so much for flying the flag on Companions Day; thanks to you we have a great story to tell that can only inspire others to join us.
