The Order of Malta mourns the passing of Sister Isabel

The Grand Master of the Order of Malta, Fra’ John Dunlap, shares the condolences of the Nuns of St. John of Jerusalem for the passing of Sister Isabel, Mother Superior, who has died at the age of 97 in the monastery of Salinas de Añana, northern Spain.

Sister Isabel spent her long religious life in prayer and service, keeping alive the contemplative dimension of the Order of St. John.
The Grand Master invites all the confreres, knights and dames of the Order of Malta to join in prayers for the repose of her soul, thanking the Lord for the testimony of faith and dedication she has left.

The funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday 1st October at the Real Monasterio de San Juan de Acre, followed by the burial ritual in the convent’s cemetery.
