Support for London’s homeless continues
London, 18 January 2021
Since the start of the year, the Donation Hub (Help the Homeless project) has been running again at the Brompton Oratory. Companions and members of the Order and volunteers make up packs of clothes and toiletries, with the orders taken and delivered across London to the hotels/hostels and Outreach workers assisting the street population. This week, many local residents have brought donations that were then sorted and made into clothing packs. These will be delivered to the homeless next week.
The soup kitchen projects at St James’s Spanish Place, Marylebone, and at East Hill, Wandsworth, are temporarily suspended, due to covid restrictions.
About

The mission of the Order of Malta is inspired by its tradition of ‘Tuitio Fidei et Obsequium Pauperum', to assist the poor and the sick, and bear witness to the Christian faith.

The Sovereign Order of Malta is a sovereign subject of international law. The Order - which is based in Rome, in via Condotti - has its own Government, an independent magistracy, and bilateral diplomatic relations with 110 countries.

The Order of St John of Jerusalem is one of the oldest institutions of Western and Christian civilisation. Present in Palestine in around 1048, it is a lay religious Order, traditionally of military, chivalrous, noble nature.
