MILESTONES – 100,000: The Companions Donation Hub have packed 100,000 items for the homeless since March 2020
6 September 2021
Since March 2020 at the start of the first Covid lockdown the Donation Hub has delivered over 100,000 items of clothes, toiletries and small items of entertainment to the homeless rehoused in hotels and hostels in central London. Members of the Order, Companions, OMV and other helpers have come together to make this possible during the acute stages of the pandemic.
More recently, the Companions responded to a call from Caritas Westminster for clothes and toiletries for 200 refugees. Many more are expected to need help in the coming weeks and months, both in London and in locations around the country.
Just launched: Afghan Refugee Appeal

About

The mission of the Order of Malta is inspired by its tradition of ‘Tuitio Fidei et Obsequium Pauperum', to assist the poor and the sick, and bear witness to the Christian faith.

The Sovereign Order of Malta is a sovereign subject of international law. The Order - which is based in Rome, in via Condotti - has its own Government, an independent magistracy, and bilateral diplomatic relations with 110 countries.

The Order of St John of Jerusalem is one of the oldest institutions of Western and Christian civilisation. Present in Palestine in around 1048, it is a lay religious Order, traditionally of military, chivalrous, noble nature.
